Crystal shards are the main currency for Prifddinas crystal gear. You need them for Bow of faerdhinen, Blade of saeldor, crystal armour, crystal tools, enhanced crystal keys, and corrupting Bowfa so it no longer consumes charges.

Quick answer: if you only care about shards, Goreu pickpocketing and Corrupted Gauntlet are the strongest repeatable routes. If you still need the enhanced crystal weapon seed, run Gauntlet first, then finish missing shards with Goreu or Prifddinas agility.

Rates are estimates. Your real rate depends on player speed, success rate, gear, donor key-save chances, and how consistently you repeat the method.

Bowfa Shard Costs

Bow of faerdhinen uses crystal shards in a few different ways.

If you are starting from nothing, plan around 100 shards to make Bowfa and 2,000 more if you want to corrupt it.

Corrupted Gauntlet

Corrupted Gauntlet is the best all-around route if you want both shards and crystal uniques. Each completed Corrupted Gauntlet gives 100-160 crystal shards, averaging 130 per completion, plus rolls for crystal weapon seed, crystal armour seed, ornament items, and enhanced crystal weapon seed.

Use this when you still need the enhanced crystal weapon seed or want bossing profit while farming shards. At 5 completions per hour, expect about 650 shards/hr. At 7 completions per hour, expect about 910 shards/hr.

Normal Gauntlet

Normal Gauntlet gives 50-90 crystal shards per completed run, averaging 70. It is easier than Corrupted Gauntlet but slower for shard farming. At 5 completions per hour, expect about 350 shards/hr. At 8 completions per hour, expect about 560 shards/hr.

Normal Gauntlet is a good stepping stone if Corrupted Gauntlet is not comfortable yet.

Goreu Pickpocketing

Most Prifddinas elf pickpockets have a small crystal shard roll. Goreu is special: Goreu has the stronger shard roll, giving 1-5 shards on a much better weight than the other named elves.

At high success, Goreu is roughly 560 shards/hr without the full rogue outfit. With the full rogue outfit, it can reach roughly 1,145 shards/hr because successful pickpockets can roll extra loot.

Use Goreu when you want pure shards and do not care about Gauntlet uniques. It is click-intensive, but very strong.

Other Prifddinas Elves

Other named elves can still give shards, usually from a 1-2 shard roll. At high success, expect around 75 shards/hr without full rogue outfit or around 150 shards/hr with full rogue outfit.

These are fine if Goreu is busy or if you are casually thieving, but they are not the best shard farm.

Prifddinas Agility

The Prifddinas rooftop course gives 2-4 crystal shards when you complete the lap. The real hourly rate depends on lap speed. Around 50-70 laps/hr is roughly 150-210 shards/hr.

Use this if you want Agility XP and passive shards at the same time.

Crystal Chests

Crystal chests are bonus shard sources, not the best primary farm.

Enhanced crystal chest is better for shards, but treat both chests as loot/profit content with occasional shards rather than a reliable Bowfa shard grind.

Amrod Seed Exchange

Amrod can convert spare crystal seeds and crystal weapons into shards. This is not an hourly farming method, but it is one of the fastest ways to turn duplicate crystal drops into Bowfa progress.

Recommended Path

For most players, the smooth path is: run Normal Gauntlet until you can clear Corrupted Gauntlet, farm Corrupted Gauntlet for the enhanced crystal weapon seed and shard stack, then finish missing shards with Goreu pickpocketing. If you hate Gauntlet, Goreu pickpocketing can carry the shard grind by itself.
